Accessing, browsing or otherwise using this Site is subject to these Terms of Use and Privacy Policy ("Terms").

Please read these Terms before using the Site. By accessing browsing or otherwise using the Site, you express your consent to the Terms and to abide by them.

Welcome to www.issdb.org ("the Site"). The Site is owned and maintained by the Israeli Society of Development Biology ("IsSDB" or “We”) – a community of researchers designated to promote the study and scientific excellence of research in the area of developmental biology in Israel and to interact and share knowledge with other researchers, communities, national and international organizations.

The Site is intended to provide information on IsSDB’s activities, related research activities and to enable registration to IsSDB’s newsletter.

The content of the Site is for informative purposes only.

Permitted and Unpermitted use of the Site

you may use the site solely for its intended purposes and subject to these Terms. Without limiting the foregoing You may not use the Site for any nonpermitted or illegal purpose including without limiting: to use the Site for illegal use, to collect information or personal information to disseminate spam, viruses, other malicious application, defamatory, libelous, obscene or racially or otherwise objectionable content, to interfere with or disrupt the functionality of the Site, to impersonate any person or entity, or make any false statement pertaining to your identity, employment, agency or affiliation with any person or entity.

AS IS

The Site’s availability and accuracy are dependent on various factors including external ones such as communication networks, web access suppliers etc. These factors are not fault free hence we cannot guarantee that our Site will be 100% available, or error free.

Links to this Site

As long as IsSDB hasn’t informed otherwise You may place hyperlinks to the home page of the Site, subject to the following: (1) such hyperlinks do not negatively affect IsSDB or its members goodwill (2) such hyperlinks do not portray IsSDB, its members and their activities in a false, misleading, derogatory, or otherwise offensive manner.

Links to Other Sites of Third Parties

The Site may contain links to external websites. IsSDB does not endorse, operate or monitor these websites or confirm their content accuracy, validity or availability.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be exclusively governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without giving to conflict of laws principles.

Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what type of personal information IsSDB collects when using the Site contacting IsSDB or registering to IsSDB’s Newsletter, how and for what purposes IsSDB uses or transfers such information to third parties.

Using the Site

If you just visit the Site, the only information that is collected is the information typically collected in server logs by web sites such as IP address, your browser etc. Simply visiting the Site, does not expose your identity publicly but please note that your network IP address, depending on your connection, may be traceable

Subscribing to our Newsletter

we enable users to subscribe to our newsletter in order to receive information about our activities, conferences, other events and related matters in the world of developmental biology. To register you will need to provide us an e-mail address. Newsletters that include some of foregoing information about events with participation fee might be regarded as an advertisement under section 30A of the Israeli Communication Law (Telecommunications and Broadcasting) (5742-1982) and therefore by subscribing to our newsletter you signify your consent to receive such advertisements.

You may withdraw your registration at any time by: (1) following the instructions of each newsletter or (2) by contacting us at: issdb@weizmann.ac.il

How We Use and With Whom We May Share Your Information

We use or may use all the information We receive and collect: (a) to operate, support and improve the Site; (b) for technical issues; and (c) to assure security (including for investigating suspicious activity).

We do not share the information with third parties, other than with our service providers solely for the provision of their services to us and subject to their undertaking to keep such information confidential.

We may collect, use, and share your information if We have a good-faith belief that it is necessary to: (i) comply with applicable law, regulations, legal proceedings, orders or instructions of competent authorities (ii) detect, investigate, prevent, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; (iii) protect the rights, property, and safety of other users; or (iv) legal disputes or proceedings in which We are involved.

Right of Access correction and deletion

Under Privacy Protection Act (1981), the Privacy Protection Regulations (Conditions for Access to Data and Procedures for Appeal on a Denial of an Access Request) 1981 and other related regulation, any individual is entitled, by himself or through an authorized proxy acting on his behalf, to access information pertaining to him that is contained in a data base, and may ask the owner of the database to amend update or delete (subject to various exceptions) any information that he finds to be inaccurate, incomplete, unclear or non-updated. Refusal from the database owner to such request may be appealed to court in accordance with the above regulations.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may change this policy from time to time. If We do so We will provide a prior notice (unless mandatory law or regulation requires otherwise, or unless such a change is in your favor). If you continue to use the Site after those changes are in effect, you agree to the revised policy.
